Updates: Organizations, institutions support ASA statement on Burma

While we have yet to hear from our fellow youth and student organizations abroad regarding our call for an internationally- or regionally-coordinated action for Burma, we are very happy to inform everyone that several organizations have expressed support to the statement that we have released. They are:

Youth and Student Organizations:  Front Mahasiswa Nasional (Indonesia), League of Filipino Students, National Union of Students of the Philippines, College Editors Guild of the Philippines, Gabriela Youth (Philippines), Non-Aligned Students and Youth Organziations, Council of Students and Youth Movement of Mauritius, Youth Council of Mauritius (Mauritius), All Nepal National Free Students Union (Nepal), World Student Christian Federatio-Asia Pacific, Progressive Youth Front (Pakistan).

Other institutions and organizations: Ziteng (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Christian Industrial Committee, Asian Migrants Coordinating Body (Hong Kong).

I am pretty sure that many of you have initiated your own solidarity actions. If you can, please do inform us so we can post it here in the blog.

International Bloggers’ Day for Burma on the 4th of October

International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful revolution in Burma. We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words „Free Burma!“.
