Burma: SPDC Responds to Monks’ Protest with Violence

The State Peace and Development Council of Burma/Myanmar has used brute military and police force as a response to the mounting protests they have been receiving from Buddhist monks and the Burmese people.

The military has blocked some pagodas where the monks were residing as strafing on the protesters and the crowd have likewise been reported. Nabbing and illegal arrests of leaders, violent dispersals and other forms of physical assault have been made by the SPDC.

Some monks and civilians have been reportedly killed.

  1. I SUPPORT WITH MY VOICE THE PEACEFUL PROTESTS OF BURMESE PEOPLE FOR THEIR RIGHTS OF DEMOCRACY

  2. Instead of a simple humble apology to the Buddhist monks for their wrong doing and excessive handling of the monks at Pakokku, the obesequious police and senseless soldiers
of SPDC have killed unarmed monks expressing their grievances on the 26th of September 2007. This heralds bad omen for the military Junta and they will go to hell not only in this life but also in the next life. Burmese people living abroad should petition to the UN Security Council to protect the people of Burma from the ruthless and selfish military rulers. Enough is enough.

  3. I fully support and pray for the monks, nuns and lay people in Burma to succeed in their struggle for democracy and peace in the country. Your courage and sacrifice will bring freedom to Burma.

To the regime government, YOU will be called as the world’s worst dictatorship ruler who are killing its own people and destroying the country.
